I have just got a quote from AMEX Platinum Travel for a trip to London on BA.

They have quoted a price of $7424 for two passengers in Business Class (ex Melbourne). This doesn't include taxes (payable per person).

I cant believe this. I have to recheck with another advisor. But I rechecked with the same person twice.

FYI The price quoted for First Class was $14848 for the two passengers.

Once this seems like a REAL saving, which is hard to find with these companion airfares.

They seem like remarkable savings!!???

For once that does actually sound like a good deal - and nothing I would be able to match as a mug traveller.

~$4000 each to London is amazing on a OneWorld carrier... Better book it fast!

Even through discounters and travelling through weird places, the best I would be able to do on OneWorld is about 6.5K/person.

Have you checked you get the points? :D

Apologies! I jumped the gun.

The first advisor who quoted the wonderful fares was wrong, even after I checked with her 3times.

Annoying!

The Real Fares are not as attractive really, at all.

J $14848 (for 2 pax) + Taxes for 2 Pax
F $19648 (for 2 pax) + Taxes for 2 Pax

He he - tgtwwm is flying J to LHR from SYD and paid about $9,500 - that's on QF though so no chance of NNCW - Amex seems a little more expensive ;)

OT, but do you have the contact details for Amex Platinum Travel?

I can't seem to get anywhere on the Amex website.
