Hi, hoping you guys can help as I've never been much of a flyer.

- I'm Bronze with 690 status credits.

- I need one more Qantas flight to achieve an upgrade to Silver.

- I will soon be on a Qantas flight that will earn me 10 status credits.

Will I go straight to Gold, or do I have to fly on another four flights in order to get there?

I'll be flying a lot this year, so would like to know if I will be able to use the lounge! Many thanks for your help - I can't be sure how well I am interpreting the Qantas website.

With 690 SC you should already be silver, unless you haven’t done the required four segments.

If your upcoming flight is your fourth qualifying segment then you will reach gold.

But just so you’re not disappointed, you should expect it to take several days to show in your account.Usually it’s immediate. But not always.

Hi there, if you have already flown 3 Qantas flights then one additional flight and 10 or more additional status credits will take you straight to Gold.
The 4 flights requirement is an annual prerequisite for any status with QF.
There are no staged flight thresholds for different status levels as there are with VA for example.

By jumping straight to gold, you'll land up missing out (possibly) on receiving a single Qantas Club voucher. If you don't get it and want it to gift to someone, I think a call to Qantas might be able to sort that out.

I need a refresher on what period the Gold then applies. In my case I'm considering a Status Run from the DSC and it will have 760 SC enough to qual me as Gold. So my preference would be to push this as far into the next year before i need to travel thinking this will lengthen my gold qualification

For example,

Say my qantas year is 30 Jun and this year I don't requal gold, i get silver for the next year.

I take my DSC status run in early Sept. which qualifies me for Gold inc the four flights. Is the offered Gold

effective from Sept for twelve months
effective from Sept - next 30 June
effective from Sept - next 30 june + one year (I'm dreaming)

July- Sept are usually light travel periods for me anyway, so if I can push out further it may have some benefit in 2021 rather than being n a hurry to requal this year and have no travel for a few months

thanks team members. Well that makes it pretty easy then. I have the small risk of doing some domestic travel while I am silver, maybe my dream will also include the silver lounge passes to carry over.
