business class annoyance

For me its mainly not having to worry about people standing on me as they mill about waiting for a toilet to become free. I love how the FA's guard both the loo and the overhead locker space for the J "Cabin".

And I have never seen a queue for the front toilets in the past 4 years of domestic travel and most times I am sitting in economy front row aisle.

You must fly a different airline to me! I've seen it lots of times on QF domestic 737s.

Or different routes. I believe we mainly fly the same airline and I stand by my earlier statement. I have never seen people queue next to a business class seat for the toilets at the front. I have seen queues at the back of economy and on the economy class toilets on 767 but I think that has more to do with the number of cabins and people on board than anything else.

Simply... Just pay a bit more 'brass" & get priority seat, f&b, luggage.. & the special service for the bathroom!

They may as well just install a seat belt on the toilet seat and market and sell it as:

what's the deal blocking off the front of the plane, and making me walk all the way to the back to go to the loo? I don't even go to the loo, but come on...

The best thing about J class.......YOU SHALL NOT PASS

Have been with Virgin for many years and most up front in Y (sometimes PE) at first then in J of recent. When people in the first 25 rows think of going to the WC - it is amazing that they go forward - not backwards - many times folks waited and hung about up front to use the WC even though WC at back was free. Saw many sit in a PE seat before and after trip to WC.

Hear this - if that rope wasnt there - Y PAX would simply sit in a J seat to bide their time waiting for the Loo. Y PAX would stand around in J checking out the seats. If i'm in row 3 on a Y flight, I also have to go down the back. Its fair enough and often mildly interesting. I know it's a bit "class" based - but this is the society we have and i'm glad we don't all drive grey Trabbis for equality. Enuf said comrades.

When virgin had PE in an open cabin with any loo ok policy people didnt just walk up and use the loo and return to their seat. They walked up, plonked themselves in a seat because they were 'waiting for the loo', stood on top of Other pax chatting, brought their crying babies and toddlers up for a play in row 1, and used PE seats as a convenient change table. I've seen it all. Unfortunately a lot of people are really badly behaved and have little consideration for others. You can't rely on their generosity to maintain status quo. It might be annoying to walk to the back but how much more annoying would it be to pay 5 times the price of anyone else onboard and have a Y pax keep you company while they wait for the loo

I experienced this phenomenon on my return flight from AKL this week. A lady decided that 1D looked much better than her assigned seat and plonked herself down in it, took the newspaper from the pocket in front of her and used it to cover her legs. Then she reclined fully into the passenger behind. It wasn't long before she was suggesting to her friend that 1C was where she should be sitting. Fortunately the gentleman in 1A alerted the cabin supervisor who swiftly moved the lady back to her seat. The number of folk milling around and popping themselves down in the spare Y+ seats was annoying.

The only saving grace was the guy in 1A. (I rarely chat to fellow pax...even the ones I travel with!!!)... but this guy was a very interesting very frequent flyer and made the flight more than bearable.

My empty J cabin flight on Monday had no rope up.

Before J was introduced, about 40% of people who went forward to look for the loo couldn't find it and went to the back anyway!

My observation has that at about 95%. I've even had to direct other J passenger to the toilet.

I jinxed myself by posting this thread and was forced to move to the back of the plane last night. And there were TWO carts in the way. The front one was operated by a very courteous young lady, the second by some less observant FA's. I guess they must have gotten tipped off on my post and decided to make me suffer :P

One would have thought a pre-emptive strike in the 10 minutes before the carts came out would have solved the issue, especially if its an ongoing problem?

Are business class passengers really that daft and stuck up that their privacy would be impacted by someone walking past to use the toilet? Do any of the business class flyers here REALLY care?[/QUOTE]

Yes were are, I used my hard earned half price upgrade points just so I could have exclusive use of the J toilet. I was the only one in J class yesterday and even the F/A's turned away an Australian bollywood actress seated in row 6.
