Business Class award booking downgraded to economy at gate [QFF award on China Eastern]

Kinda wish I hadn't just stumbled across this thread by accident

I have a China Eastern flight in J in Dec (BNE-PVG), booked as Reward through QF using QF points.

First sector of a nine flight, five week trip, all in J, and all but one sector booked with QF Reward points. Although the rest are on OneWorld airlines and I'm OWE status so hoping that counts for something when/if they are looking to bump people from any of my flights

Any recent experiences from AFF members around China Eastern ?

Booked an award last minute last week to flee the Typhoon on China Eastern to fly to Hong Kong via Shanghai - no issues all went fine.

Sorry that I didn't update this thread, Qantas did eventually refund the points difference between business class and economy 4 months later. No extra compensation or explanation was given.

I’ve just flown China Eastern in J AKL-PVG-JFK. I was on a revenue ticket with Mrs W-K and Miss W-K used QF points.

No issues at check in. Was pleasantly surprised by China Eastern. The hard product in the Dreamliner is very good, the food was plentiful and good quality. There were even Pajamas.
