Business Class - Not so strict anymore

We all love an op up.
Effectively, these two just received an op up after boarding.
We will never know why.
But most of us have received at least one op up. No one on our flights ever knew why we received it.
And if they knew about it, pax paying for the class we were upgraded to would probably have been peeved.
If they were in the front row of Y they were almost certainly high status pax anyway.
Definitely not staff or anyone on staff travel - VA does have a very strict rule against any upgrades to J for staff.
Of course management is always another story ...
Personally I would have been happy to see it because it would have given me more hope for an upgrade on another flight!
