Business Class Promotions?

We newbies want to fly Business Singapore to Melb next April, preferably Qantas. When would be best time to buy. Do Qantas have regular months when they do BC promotions? Any suggestions for a better choice of airline. Singapore seem about twice as dear at present and Qantas times to Melb aren't all that attractive.

I don't know about Qantas sales ex-Singapore, but make sure you sign up to the Red-emails so you're notified if/when the next one is announced.

For the SIN-MEL route, have you considered Emirates?

Emirates recently retimed the SIN-MEL leg so it is a day flight arriving just after midnight, potentially making J less critical.

Apparently Qantas are having a sale ex-Singapore over the next few days (check out the Cheap International Fares thread). Not a lot of detail as yet but April tends to be a busy month so not sure those dates will be covered.
