Hi All,

We were looking at booking a business class fare with SQ to LHR, and another y class that we would upgrade with points (we've got about 160k krisflyer miles). We're told that there are no upgrade fares available in October so that option is out. We've had a look and Asiana have great prices on business fares - 11k for both - which is not much more than a full SQ business plus upgradeable economy fare would have cost.

Have never flown Asiana so interested to hear opinions from others about seat and service (business class)?

Thanks all!

Rob

Hi riarosa,

I'm also yet to experience Asiana, but have heard from a reliable source that their J product is excellent. It has a consistantly star review in most of the airline traveller publications, & noted as one of the top ten in Asia Pacific of recent.

Just wondering if your talking streamlined transit points..

Be of interest to give this one a whirl for the attractive price offered.

Also have a look at Korean Air. Not sure what London flight costs but our Vancouver
flights worked out at $5700 each person in Business Class. Flew them to Paris a couple
of years ago and absolutely no problems other than a very warm cabin temp. Also
provided night at Hyatt Regency for one night due to flight schedules. All inclusive of
meals, very nice room and transfers. Korean Air Incheon Prestige Class lounge is wonderful.

Hi Rob,

I flew them to the UK for Christmas, you can't fault the service and the food and wine are fantastic. The in flight entertainment is a little old style no AVOD. My only niggle was the stop over in Seoul, all very efficiently done but the hotel is about an hours drive from the hotel and I ended up waiting almost an hour for all the passengers to get on the bus. Having said that very good value for money.

There is an interesting trip report that may help (sorry I cant post the link not enough replies!) its on boardingarea.com blogs frequentlyflying 2011 11 25 asiania-airlines trip-report (fill in the gaps with /)

Cheers
Andrew

Thanks all - some helpful posts. Certainly looking like an attractive option - current quotes are coming in at about 5.5k each which is certainly a lot more achievable for us than prices in the 8k range.
