Dear Fare Gurus

Do you have any good ideas on what is the cheapest business class fare from MEL - LHR with Qantas/OneWorld? I'm thinking of travelling next northern summer.

BA has a current deal where you pay for one class (World Traveller, World Traveller Plus or Club World) and travel one way in that class and one way in the next higher class.

So pay for Club World and travel one way in First Class. Or pay for World Traveller Plus and travel one way on Club World. This latter one has to be one of the best value ways to get to/from Europe in comfort.

Otherwise look try a OneWorld Explorer RTW fare (DONE4) which often works out cheaper than a point-to-point fare and is great for earning more FF points and Status.

QF sometimes has discounted business class fares to Frankfurt, but rarely to London. So you might like to consider going QF to FRA and then take a cheap BA flight to London. That will also save on the London airport taxes which are 20 pounds for the lowest class of travel on the aircraft and 40 pounds for higher classes. So for business class to London you will be paying 40 pounds, while if you connect to a Euro Traveller BA service from FRA to London you only pay the 20 pounds. But of course then you may have higher fuel surcharges to pay so it may all come out in the wash these days.

Sorry its not 1w Anna, but Thai have some great deals - travel FIRST for QF's Business fare level...
