Business class transit through Singapore (Changi): an absolute farce

Here is the current transit info:
Hi Mate, what actually is the VTL Im booking flights in next 2 days and tried ringing SIA but to long of a wait. Obviously im fully vaxed plus booster and will only be transiting on my way to FRA

Hello again, son

I am in the lounge at CDG waiting to board
At check in I had to show Australian international triple vaccination certificate (not the EU one), RAT result from yesterday and the new digital passenger code number.
The check in person did NOT know about the new digital system beginning 18 Feb but luckily I had taken a screenshot of home affairs website from yesterday, to show her.
After that things went smoothly.
60 minutes from door to lounge so not the fastest.
I’ll report back in 14 hours. Either from the cattle pen or the lounge!!

VTL it seems, is only for Singapore entry.
See my previous post
Vaccine cert. RAT. Travel locator.
That is all you need.

Does anyone know if this is accurate, but this website seems to indicate that pre-departure testing is no longer required for transiting through Singapore after 22 February?

Changi Airport is part of Singapore Inc, what they indicate is accurate. Another official source here, check item 14:

Morning Duffa, what's a Travel Locator Mate. Cheers

Hello again, son

I am feeling your pain from two weeks ago! It would seem we missed the relaxation deadline by a few days but not to mind. This is a father son bonding experience.

They walked us through the middle of the airport and past the SiverKris escalator which was a bit hard to stomach. At least we caught two trains so the walk wasn't too bad and I used your idea of grabbing a mini trolley.

The premium area is still the same coughpy seats but there is now a security man at the entrance to stop all the freeloaders emptying the free vending machines. We elected to sit outside and had reasonable choice for comfy seats.

Singapore is removing the Transit Holding Pen for arrivals from those European countries from tomorrow.

From the above website:

Latest update: All connecting passengers, except for those from countries/regions in the Restricted Category as classified by Singapore's Ministry of Health, will not need to remain within the Transit Holding Area from 2359 hours on 21 February 2022 (Singapore Time). There are no countries/regions currently in the Restricted Category. Click here for latest information.

This will still be required for transit passengers coming from "restricted" countries in the future, but there are currently no countries in this category.

That's lucky I'm flying Qantas into Singapore. Sounds horrendous

The rules come from the government. If the rules were still in place (they're not, and didn't apply to flights originating from Australia anyway), you would have the same situation whether connecting SQ-SQ or connecting, say AF-QF.
