Business classic reward to Europe

What is the likelihood of Qantas releasing a batch of business class classic reward seats for the 2025 European summer? In particular, I’m hoping to book one from Perth to either London, Paris or Rome. At the moment, there are only classic PLUS fares available. However id like to use points to book a more affordable classic reward. I know Qantas has done batch releases in the past. If they do this again, is there any idea of when it could be? Eg Jan 2025 release for July 2025 flights?

Welcome to AFF!

The likelihood is greater than zero, but not much greater than zero. The European summer is peak travel time and Qantas can easily fill its seats with paying customers. Also unless you're Platinum or above with Qantas Frequent Flyer, you're not exactly at the top of the food chain...

If you are a risk-taker, feel free to wait for a few months. But if your heart is set on using points to fly Qantas in Business class to Europe in July 2025, I'd grab the Classic Plus seats now while you can.

A third, and possibly the best, option at this stage is to try to use Qantas points, but on partner airlines (or to pay for flights to south-east Asia and use Qantas points on partner airlines from there).

Thanks for the reply. I’m not a platinum member unfortunately. Option 3 may be the way to go. Do you have any suggestions for where to do this from? Are you saying I could, for example, pay for a flight from Perth to Singapore in cash and then get a Qantas business class reward using points from Singapore to London?

Yes, that's definitely one strategy. Have a read of these two articles for more strategies and ideas (the second one is a little out of date, but still contains a lot of useful information).
