I was talking to AMEX the other day and found out something unexpected re transferring points between different reward program tiers. Because some members reported that they have had difficulty linking reward programs between Business and Personal cards, I assumed that you couldn't therefore request to transfer points between a Business and Personal card reward program. It appears, however, that it doesn't matter whether cards are Business or Personal cards when it comes to transferring points between reward programs (all that appears to matter is that the Reward programs are in the same name)

Hi all. Just used Bell21’s method to transfer 650k from gateway to ascent using the above phone number. No issues at all from the phone rep but she did say I couldn’t link my biz exp to a plat amex personal. Very happy with the result. Many thanks Bell21 for your excellent work

My absolute pleasure Danger UXB. I've been delighted with the ease with which they allow us to transfer points between reward programs - I've now transferred points between Gateway and Ascent and Gateway and Ascent Premium and it's been seamless each time. I haven't asked to link biz exp to my personal plat amex, although they did say I could link my biz accelerator to biz exp, but then I would lose the 50,000 biz exp bonus points per annum, so I figured best to make manual transfers when required.
