I tried to buy a car and using my Personal Amex using Sniip. However Sniip informed me that Amex doesnt allow them to make payments for the purchase of cars for personal use (business use is fine), but using a Visa card via Sniip to buy a car is fine. Anyone have any insight why Amex would have such rule?
I ended up just paying cash instead. I'm sure there is a good reason, but very curious why Visa allows it, but Amex does not.

Given many dealerships accept Amex both for deposits and for paying remaining balance (the latter usually attracting overheads that don't make it worthwhile) I imagine it is something specific to Sniip's arrangement

Interesting - I submitted an invoice to use the BSB / Account but Sniip told me I couldn't purchase a car for personal use full stop, then deleted the invoice from my account.

Sniip's customer support is a joke when it comes to their BSB / Account system. No one knows their own business what can what cannot, so random and so much long to wait.

It would be interesting to know if there is a genuine compliance reason or an arbitrary decision someone came up with - that car purchases for private purposes aren't allowed. I did ask snipp about that, but all they said it was that it was an Amex decision.
