Buying Air Canada Aeroplan points

Full price 1000 points = CAD35
100% bonus = 17.50
85% bonus = 18.91

So about 7.5% difference? Or around AUD165 extra each way on a flight to europe.

(disclaimer… I’m usually really bad at maths!)

The LH group’s devaluation might be interesting on Aeroplan too sadly
The trend at the moment seems to be that partner airline awards are relatively free from dynamic pricing. Too hard perhaps? But i’m sure they’ll find a way to do it sooner or later!

It will be more the case of whether LH group release basic awards now. Dynamic pricing sort of works on cost of ticket, so the sweet spot might be 3-6 months out. Time will tell. Just praying I can use mine mid year or that was a $4200 mistake buying the miles in January

I think it will be ok. LH has some huge business class cabins, and they gotta fill them somehow outside of peak periods. SQ has had saved and advantage levels for like… ever… and you can still get good availability on them.

Lets hope you are right!! But one thing is for sure, when I have used these points, not buying any more until I can use them that same day.

Agree. Speculative buying isn’t necessarily a good idea. But then again, aeroplan isn’t lifemiles… sometimes it can be a few months between sales, and you can miss out on seats in that time.
