Cairns Qantas Club - Jetstar Flight no calls etc...

This is a rant...

So here I am sitting in the Qantas lounge and they tell me that they don't get calls for Jetstar flights. The monitors also won't be updated if there are delays. The computer in front of them tells them there is a delay but it might not be correct either. Every other city I have flown Jetstar out of and been in the Qantas club it is pretty much exactly the same as a Qantas flight, but Cairns apparently Jetstar and Qantas aren't the same company or even friends. Anyway I guess I will wander down to the gate when boarding time on my BP is and stand around until a plane arrives rather than sit and have a coffee and wait in the Club.

It's actually an anomaly that QF lounges call flights. It's actually very rare for any lounge around the world to call flights for boarding.
Strange that QF still call boarding in their lounges tbh.

I am also gold with virgin and I am pretty sure they call flights, and at the very least the staff can check delays etc. for you and the boards in the lounges are correct.

It’s rare in hub lounges but very common in outstation lounges.

For example SQ call their flights in places like MEL, SYD, HKG, DEL etc where they operate lounges. In SIN they don’t call flights that are due to depart on time, but do call delayed flights (sensible IMHO).

Likewise with EK in DXB vs EK lounges in MEL, SIN etc - no calls at hub, but flights always called at outstation.

I’m trying to use one of my lounge invitations but apparently they are not currently accepting them for JQ flights

Brisbane doesn't call JQ flights either. It used to. I imagine that's now a national policy.
