Just read the thread again - terrific resource for planning.

Thinking about ticking Africa off the list next year - Cape Town, Namibia, Botswana and Victoria Falls. The planning stage has begun!

We did a self drive tour of Namibia in 2013. Highly recommend it!

Outstanding! Three TR specialist to look forward to.

This trip is being worked around another special birthday ;) Unfortunately, I'm a Dec baby ... not the best time to visit Africa - apparently.

I feel a bit like the meat in the sandwich; but honoured to be mentioned in the same post as two of the best.

Looking forward to the TRs!

I'm hoping to head back that way next year - Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya and Zanzibar on radar.

I enjoyed Vic Falls - we stayed up river at Victoria Falls River Lodge. Right on the river bank, luxury tented, small etc and added bonus of river cruises and safari drives as its in the park. We did the helicopter flight and loved it. Friend subsequently did the microlight flight and raved about it. High tea at Vic Falls hotel is a must too!

I am suffering Africa withdrawal symptoms at the moment. :). You can pretty much go anywhere in South or East Africa and it will be fantastic (with a little sensible caution of course). I have another trip report with some Vic Falls photos as well - you absolutely have to do Livingstone Island and the Angel's/Devil's pool! I have a travel agent in South Africa who organised some of the land content for me - she was really good if you want her contact details.

Thanks for the link - forgot about that brilliant TR. I'll hit you up on the TA - just need to sort out travel date and rough itinerary. Having re-read a few more TR's - I've decided I don't really want to go in Dec/Jan, so I'll have to select another location for my birthday trip.

Go Sri Lanka! Tea Trails, Cape Weligama and if their 3rd property Wild Coast Lodge is not open by then, Chena Huts.
