I have a flex (K) fare flight coming up in three weeks and I need to make a change to the date of travel. I booked it in mid August. This will be the first and only time I have changed it, but Qantas changed the originally booked itinerary for reasons of their own back in September (same dates of travel, different route).
Going online to manage the booking, I see that the option to change it is greyed out and it says to call Qantas. I also have the option of cancelling and converting it to a voucher. Questions:
1) Any idea why I can’t make this change myself?
2) Will I be charged a fee if I manage to get through to their call centre to get them to change it?
3) How long are the call centre wait times currently? Is there still a different line for gold members to call and if so, is it any faster and where do I find that number?
4) Will it cost more if I cancel and rebook the flight?

1 - Maybe too many changes by Qantas and due to their antiquated online system
2 - You'll be charged the fare difference if there is any, you just tell them that you couldn't make the change online and the fee service fee 'should' be waived.
3 - Minimal, the phone numbers can be different, but all route the same after entering the FF number.
4 - Just give them a call and see how it goes.
