Ok I know the practical (and real answer) that's why this is in the playground, not anywhere else. But I will shortly be joined by another (extended) family member in the realm of Qantas status - my 3 yo niece should become silver shortly. So she will get priority luggage, queueing etc and a QC pass, and in the meantime both her parents will be lowly NB's by just by the quirk of anniversary dates in relation to travel dates. Wonder if she'll be able to guest my sister when she turns up at the QP with her pass .....

I'm not 100% sure what answer you want ;) So here's my attempt.

Children 3 and under are not considered as guests. So that's one person out of three who gets access.

One QC pass is supposed to be for one person - but that doesn't mean that's how it works in real life. Give it a try...

The pass is fully-transferable within it’s year of usage, so anyone with QFF membership can use the pass to gain access to the lounge.

Yes that's exactly what I said to them. She will be travelling alone with her mum and younger sister (<2 yo), shortly so I am sure they'll appreciate the access. Love the irony though.

I do beleive anyone can use the pass even if they are not a QFF member, they just need to be flying QF that day.

But as children don't normally count as guests I figure mum could use the pass and take daughter in with her. Effectively making it a two for one deal.

Interesting situation. The 3 year old daughter has a higher status than the parents!

I was just going to post that when I saw your post.

It effectively becomes a 3 for 1 deal as her younger sister will be there with her mum as well.

A very effective use of a single use QP entry card.

Now to see if the QP dragons will allow it.......

I'm not sure there is any irony. :confused:The PS member your niece isn't guesting anyone. They are simply transferring the pass as any PS is allowed to do. The children can also get in the same way as any other child 3 years or under. So being PS doesn't come into it.

I'm sure they'll all get in as when I travel SWMBO is my guest and they always let he kids in, who are now 9 and 6, without question.

Playground not QFF forum !!! I think JohnK appreciated the interesting situation that a child can get status who always accompanied by her parents (or mother at least), yet parents don't.

My friend's 4yo daughter is SG, along with both her parents. They went travelling last year with the child's grandfather. Her parents joked that it would be the 4yo guesting her grandfather into the QPs during their trip. ;)

So the irony is not related to the QP situation. but still not seeing any irony. clearly your niece is not always accompanied by her mum, otherwise mum would be PS. Also as parents means 2 people clearly PS for one is not going to equal PS for 2 people if the one is always flying with one or both of the two.

Sorry, it seems like a logic outcome of the reality of the situation. I don't get irony at all. Must be the scientist in me. I'm truely sorry for not getting. But no need to let my lack of imagine get in the way.

But as both parents have different renewal dates than the child does - the situation can be easily created even if all of the pax were on the same flights.

No - on each flight she has been accompanied by her mum, just that mum's SCs were split across two status years - where as my niece's were all in one status year. All depends on membership anniversary dates ! Can easily happen with two colleagues accompanying each other around the country as well.
