Can I board with two VA tickets?

I haven't tried the DDSC, but for my F100 in April this year, on VA, I did get the VA 10 points per $1 earn, 5 points for my own seat and 5 points per $1 on the seat next to me, and also DSC, ie, my own and the seat next to me.

That's fascinating, none of the US airlines give SC (or their equivalent) with extra seats.

Certainly if you find a great MR fare this is the perfect way to double it.... and get a bit more comfort! Luckily I've had no need for a MR in years.

Well I've spoken with VA and it seems the getaway ticket cannot be cancelled. 😖 So I am still left with two tickets as it is not worth changing the Getaway ticket to a different date (ticket cost $89).

Therefore will I have a problem if I just check-in for the Business class flight and simply not check-in for the other flight? That seems to be my only option.

Cannot be cancelled, or cannot be refunded?

The booking can, of course, be cancelled, otherwise they'd have flights going out with empty seats :(

The main thing is that you need assurance from VA that they won't autocancel your other ticket. Duplicate bookings aren't allowed.

Ask for the issue to be escalated to be resolved without being charged a fee since you already purchased a more expensive ticket (via email probably better so you have the paper trail).

They can elect to waive fees and in this instance you think someone at VA will eventually have some common sense.

If they don't you could always remind them that you could cancel the business fare... which would cost them more than cancelling a ticket and keeping your money.

Wow. A charge to cancel a ticket even if you don't want a refund? That seems unfair :(
In practice, it does not happen. You can call to cancel bur no fee would generally be assessed. (If so, then just end the call and no-show.)

Well I tried to cancel the getaway tix online but the website won't allow me and the telephone rep (Gold line) said you cannot cancel either. I guess I'm about to find out what happens when someone tries to board with two tickets...guinea 🐖

First point, 48 hours prior, is to do OLCI.
See what happens there.
Check in for the J first, online, on laptop, and print the BP.
Then try to checkin for the other one, also on laptop, and see if you can print the BP.
Its mind boggling that there is no way to cancel a seat.
Ps, nice image of the oink.

In the case where you also booked Biz i am surprised a credit note for other ticket cannot be raised if you get the RIGHT agent.
