Hi All,

I am booked to fly SYD-SIN-DEL return later this month. Flight out if W and back is fare class V. I did a check today on Krisflyer and found that there is business class award seats available on return leg between SIN and SYD.

Can I do something ?

Cheers, ap

I'm not familiar with the fare types, can you upgrade the return V Class fare using your miles?

I guess if the answer was that obvious you wouldn't have asked. Generally if you cancel the return leg of the fare, the difference would be negligible. ie it's not going to be anywhere near 50% of the fare you paid.

You could just let the return sector lapse and do a new one way redemption DEL-SYD for the miles plus ~S$460

Generally you can cancel part of a return flight, but as albatross points out, any refund might be non existent. Airlines will usually calculate the fare for the journey flown, and might refund you the balance, but on multi sector flights that can be nothing.

Can you leave your existing ticket in tact but book an award SIN-SYD? On the same flight probably not. You can't hold multiple seats for one passenger on one flight. But you could always call SQ and see what they can do for you. They probably won't let you cancel the SIN-SYD at this stage without repricing your fare, and you might have to pay extra for what you already have.
