Can I earn reward points on an ANZ rewards black card paying bills? I want to be able to pay things like car insurance, car services etc.. thanks, db.

Most bills will yield points - likely the only ones that won't are ones termed "government charges" such as the ATO (see the cards' Terms and Conditions). There's services out that such as Sniip that will let you pay (via a third party and with an additional charge) that should let you get points on that "government charges" spend - haven't tried it with that particular card but have had success elsewhere. Other car spending (servicing, insurance) has always yielded points for me on this card.

Yes.

Heads up, received statement today with a notice that no more points on Auspost Bill Pay or BPAY transactions from 5th August onwards - so use Paypal wherever possible when paying bills and/or with Auspost Billpay :)

ANZ system is quite smart, I used paypal to pay for government bodies, and it didn't give me any points, and ANZ also doesn't give points for any state, federal relevant organisations and the range is quite board.

How do you pay bills using paypal? I can't seem to work out how to do this from my Paypal dashboard.

What about DEFT payments using sniip??

So I ended up getting full bonus points with my ANZ rewards black CC - paying with sniip which uses DEFT to bypass BPAY restrictions.
