Can I lose PS Status?

With regard to 'status comping' as some of you refer to, being allowed to remain at a given level without attaining the required SC's, is it likely that I would be given Silver status if I am 5 SC's short in my membership year with the flights I have planned? It's unfortunate, but that is the way my flights have panned out prior to my membership year expiring on 31 July. Is it worth asking? main reason is that i just want the single use pass to give to a relative who's travelling, no difference to me as I have QC membership anyway. Cheers.

Highly unlikely unless you already have Silver status. I have not heard stories of anyone given a higher status level without first earning that status level.

No harm in asking but unless you vary your travel plans before 31 July that relative will need to find a complimentary pass from another source.
