Can you book ANA with Virgin Atlantic miles "one-way"?

Hi,

Threads I've seen on flyertalk suggest that you can't book one way using Virgin Atlantic miles however I was wondering if you can do something similar to How To Book One-Way Award Ticket Using ANA Miles - One Mile at a Time where you book another cheap ticket returning to origin. Will try to call Virgin to confirm this week.

There are sweet spots for SYD HND return in J for example but I want to book one way for an award from NRT LHR
