Looking to travel cheaply PER - SIN I noted on the jetstar website that the direct flight is available but the connection via CGK is "not offered".

Given that I am looking at a connecting flight in SIN about 2100 - early morning arrival in SIN is not terribly desirable, so for about the same amount of $$ you could connect in CGK - if it were possible.
I will not be traveling with luggage (less than 10kg carry-on) so can I get a 3K boarding pass airside?

There will be plenty of time to connect - so I suppose it would be possible to clear customs and check in properly. But the visa fee makes the effort that much less economic.

Thoughts as you wander?

Given that 150K IDR is about AUD$15 - can it be paid airside?
Are the normal gate areas open plan = say like in SIN with a transit desk?

i know the departure fee is not alot but its annoying you have to exchange the money.

there is a joint transfer desk(s) in the terminal (before immigration), pretty sure 3K was on the list.

they typically will phone/find someone who's responsible for the airline and give you the boarding pass (departure fee can be paid here to the airline staff), it can take a while till the boarding pass is in your hands (eg. 30 minutes).

they will take you to the departure gate which is just upstairs.

security / x-ray is done at the gate.
