I will be in Canberra soon and wondering if anyone wants to meet for lunch on [-]Sunday 6[/-] Saturday 5 April. The CBD Dumpling House has been suggested by one of our member's I chatted to on fb.

I was thinking noon but that can move to a little later. Who is keen?

MissBurrill, I'd like to put my hand up for the Dumpling House at 1200 Sunday 06 April. I don't actually know where it is though.

I'd prefer Civic if there is one there if possible. If we can't find that one, we could possibly fall back on the old faithful: Sammy's Kitchen in the North Quarter Canberra Centre, Bunda St. It still gets 4 start on Tripadvisor.

If Sammy's is still as good as it was when I lived in Canberra then it's definitely an option.

CBD Dumpling House is in Civic in the same precinct as Sammy's. For those more familiar with the area, it is behind where Rebel Sports used to be.

Don't forget that the Canberra Airport Open Day is on 6 April ;).

I am interested to attend, and as I am rather new to Canberra, I have absolutely no preference! If I can manage the time, I can meet you guys (and gals) anywhere that suits the majority.

MissB, do you think that the Canb A/port open day will interrupt people coming to lunch? I could make 05 April, the Saturday if that suits anyone else. I don't intend going to the open day, what do others think.

I don't intend to go to the open day either.

I'm OK with Miss B's original suggestion. I walked past Papa Rich last night (Malay) in Civic under the Dendy, and that also has good reviews. It seems that there are a few around there withing 20 mtrs of each other. Dumpling House is a bit tucked away and we may be able to linger longer.

I arrive back in CBR at 1715 on Sunday 6 April, i'm a WP so if anyone wants to meet for a drink/ chat between 1715-2045 when the J lounge closes, let me know :-)

I can update the first post and change the thread title when a consensus has been reached. Just let me know.

My friends have taken over my Sunday and told me I now have plans for lunchtime.

I'm thinking Saturday lunch is the new plan. I know Civic will be busy then but we'll be fine.

I'm OK w' Saturday at 1200. Just need to decide which place. Based on Miss B's original suggestion, The Dumpling House is still Ok I take it? When we agree, we can give people the exact location. Miss B, Civic is always busy. WE can book when numbers more or less decided.

Can't make Saturday :( as my sister and brother-in-law are in town (they've being living in Berlin for the last year, so haven't seen them in a while) and we're doing stuff with them on Saturday. But am free for a drink on Sunday.

My friends claimed my Sunday for high tea. Then shook up my plans and I'm flying home Sunday afternoon when they fly away.

It's ages since I've been in Civic. My landmarks are the chess pit, the sheep and the cube opposite the theatre. Can someone suggest a meeting point that is easy to find. I also know where King O'Malleys is!
