Trying to cancel a flight given the new travel/border restrictions, am I right in that Fly Flexible means you can change dates unlimited times, but cancellations are subject to normal fare rules, and fees apply if allowed?

Tried to search and couldn't find the threads right now, but I seem to recall people have been able to cancel red e-deal fares to flight credit anyway. Has anyone managed to do that recently, and did you get charged for it?

This is correct, although it depends on when the flight was booked. If it was before 28 Feb 2021 then you can still get a credit for any fare. Flights booked after that date follow the normal policy for cancelations.

You are correct about still being able to change dates unlimited times and obviously, if QF cancel the flight (possible given flights to/from SYD are dropping like flies) then standard policy applies.
