Cancelling a JASA

You may also be able to book as one, and split the booking later if needed. I believe it can be done!

The pro of booking together is it'll automatically seat you together.

You should be able to reduce to one or split the bookings (although it can be a nuisance).

Thanks docjames. Yes, understand the pro of being seated together, though with both of our lowly statuses getting Row 3 shouldn't be an issue! Would reducing/splitting the bookings incur a fee?

BD

Not that i'm aware of.

Because I'm an impatient bugger, I rang the premium desk just then, who in turn rang ticketing and the awards desk; may get the cash and points back in the next 24 hours...:p Edit: And 30 minutes after the call, the points are now back in my account!! Nice one Qantas:cool:
Just out of interest:mrgreen:, a month later this cancelled JASA still appears under "my bookings" in my QF account; when I type the pnr into "check my trip" the booking with eticket no. and seat allocation is still there. Hypothetically of course, is the ticket still "live"...wonder if I could OLCI at T-24hrs??;)

A cancelled JASA is also appearing in my bookings list 6 months later as

QZW-QZY on QF9092 B747SR

Has anyone ever cancelled a domestic JASA that was paid with points and cash? I know the fare is fully refundable, however, do you get the points and $ value refunded?

Yes. you need to call them; it can't be done online.

i got refund without penalty but had to call...

Rather than starting a new thread I thought I'd revive this old one.

I'm planning to cancel a SYD-JNB-SYD JASA (:().

The fares both ways (bought in a single txn) are (full) Business. I screen shot it when booking but the hotlink to the rules is still accurate anyway.

The ticket was bought with points and cash.

I am quite certain it is fully refundable as per the fare rules pasted below, but one question:

1) Should I expect a fee for getting a person to do it over the phone (certainly not going to do it online after what I've read)? I can't see where one is payable, but they seem to like to charge whenever you ring 'em.

Thanks

Oh, and any recent experience as to time taken for refunds of both points and cash (which I assume goes onto the CC it came from)?

Before departure:

Full refund.

After departure:

The refund will be the difference (if any) between the fare paid and the applicable fare for the journey travelled.

Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award: If this is a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award and the itinerary has been partially flown, then a proportion of the money and points originally used to obtain the award will be refunded to the applicable Member. The proportion refunded will be the remaining ticket value as allocated by Qantas as a proportion of the original ticket value.

Based on those rules there would be no service for or any other charge for cancellation.

I cancelled a JASA in September, points only took 2-3 days to be recredited and credit appeared on credit card statement approx 2 weeks later

do you get back your CC fee as well if you paid by CC?

It's a question I was going to ask, but after checking things out I think the cash component either already includes a CC fee, or there is no CC fee at all, that is, no separate charge appears when booking.

The full amount charged to my credit card was recredited and after checking only took a couple of days to appear and not the 2 weeks I originally said.
