Hey All,

Post very infrequently so please forgive any infractions.

Was lucky enough to secure 2 x PER-FCO (direct) mid July and 2 x LHR-PER (direct) mid August Classic Reward seats in J.

Unfortunately I have to cancel them - question being - does anyone know if they will be released to others? If so, is there a link on this forum to let other wonderful QFFlyers know about it in advance? Happy to co-ordinate timing of my cancellation in order to assist someone else to grab them, if so.

Thank you in advance, I appreciate all the advice I get from this forum.

There is no hardvand fast rules on this apart from the inventory controls QF has on each flight and the current situation with the flight.

So.. maybe.
Thanks RichardMEL, I presumed that would be the case but was hoping otherwise.

Are you aware of any links in this forum for said situations?

Otherwise I will just cancel now in order to get my extortionate taxes refunded haha

Thank you :)

There is nothing specific.

Occasionally someone will post the basic detail of what they are about to cancel as a headsup; then do it, possibly at a specific time.

Whether the awards would become available again, only Qantas knows.

Just checking if you cancel a QF rewards seat is there an option for cash fee rather than losing the 6000 points? and if so what is it?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If your flight isnt till August, and you dont need the points back immediately, just wait and see if there is any involuntary schedule changes. I had a 10 minute change on a flight and that was enough to get the cancellation fee waived.

Buy a case of Qantas wine that gives you some bonus points and call that the “cash cancelation fee”.

Highly unlikely those seats will go back into the award buckets for those routes.

@Flatforlonghaul very good of you to think of others, hopefully you’ll get to do your trip soon!

The thread below is all about award tickets, maybe that would be suitable.
