Can't book award seats using Multi-City booking engine, but individual sectors available

Is that even a legal connection? I was initially offered a 0 minute connection when I asked originally, but they couldn’t see any of the later connections that were actually legal. Ultimately they just told me I needed to book them separately. Really bizarre
No - MCT is 90 mins. Called Hobart this morning using a relatives FF# and they were happy to move me 1 flight later.

Is there any update on this problem? I tried to book BNE-MEL-HKG today. BNE-MEL and MEL-HKG available separately, and I used multicty tool to price out, but errored out just on payment.
Called Qantas, and similarly, they said there isn't availability. Is this still an issue in limbo?
