Hi guys and gals,

i just went to silver a month ago today but still haven't received my card etc. but speaking to another member he got his within two weeks... Is it simply a phone call or are there forms on the net to assist? The FAQs fail to let you now what the delivery schedule is...

Has anyone else experienced this?

Around 2 weeks.

Are you still able to access the relevant privileges without the card? My husband just made Gold and hasn't received his card either, however he is travelling soon and would love to access the lounges in particular!

They will be able to tell at the lounge if he is Gold or Platinum just by entering his card details. It doesn't matter what colour the card is.

When I family pooled my son to make Gold it happened in August and took 7 weeks to send the pack then another one arrived this week 9 weeks after he was gold. My Platinum replacement only took 3 weeks and arrived before the first Gold Pack considering 8th Aug he went gold and 25 aug was my review date

In Oz that's true - but may be different for SG/WP when trying to access partner airline lounges (SQ, DL etc.)

I guess I just assumed it was a domestic question. You are correct though, Int could be problematic.

My silver card took 4 weeksWhen I went up to Gold I recieved it within a week and a half

Yeah, doesn't matter for domestic, but problematic for int travel!

my silver took about 2 weeks and gold took about 2 weeks to arrive.

I made Gold towards the start of an extended o/s trip in June and came back (last minute) to discover I still haven't gotten the card. I haven't contacted Velocity though - I should probably get on that.

Just confirming serfty's comment (etal): I have never showed my card at any VA lounge in Australia but I have always had to show my card at Etihad's J lounge.

Another thing I found out recently relating to changing status, especially if you haven't received your new card..... relates to reservations made prior to upgrade of status.
It seems the status you were at time booking was made is locked to the itinerary and apparently at check in they can only see this status.
Simple remedy is to call Velocity (not normal reservations) and ask them to update your current reservations to relfect your new status and benefits such as baggage will be available without any dramas.
When you enter the lounge even with a lower status card they can immediately see your real status anyway so that doesn't matter so much.

Velocity told me it'd be 28 Days before I got my new card - I must point out though, its just replacing my old Velocity Virgin Blue Card into the new Red card while I start all over in flying all over for the status and points (And for fun :) )

IMHO my plat card took a few weeks to arrive.

I don't have my new card yet and it is around 3 weeks now.
