Hi guys,
im 20 status credits away from gold and flying PE with V Australia on Saturday to LAX.
Are there any lounges in international area that will offer casual entry?

Iv got 2 free lounge access passes as part of getting silver i think but is this domestic only?

Obviously V Australia wont with their Air NZ share.. Does any airline allow a casual entry system?

Cheers

Welcome to AFF.

Generally no "Casual Pay" lounges in Australia, unlike overseas.
The United lounge is a member of PriorityPass, but I doubt if it also offers Casual Pay

Think the two free passes are dom only.
I suspect not worth doing a status run beforehand, just spend $50 at the food court!

You can use the fantastic LAX lounge on the way back! ... oh... wait.

I *love* the fact they 'invite you to be their guest' at the bar downstairs. I wandered down to my flight, and the queue to get in the tiny piss-weak bar was at least 40 deep, and that was not lounge pax.

I did note I got an invite to the 'temporary lounge' at check-in, so that would imply they're moving soon. T5 would be better (although arrivals at T5 is a friggin nightmare. 2 1/2 hours last time I was there, almost missed my connection).

iv always just used alaska airs lounge when flying business, but thats changes recently too yeh?

I thought I'd try out social media today and sent my first ever 'tweet,' asking VA if they knew about moving to T5 for departures. The response was "sorry don't have info or details on this yet" which is not especially helpful, but consistent with the level of detail I'd expect from a twitter team.

That's gone yes. The old AS lounge is now the VA lounge (and is branded) but they have no alcohol in there (and only post mix soft drinks and juices). It's probably the worst lounge i've been in (and the wifi just never works; I've crashed it various times).

I think you would be best off looking at AirNZ lounge. $50-60 I think.
A great lounge, good beer selection.
You'll get your $50's worth.
