catering not assured... and other stuff

Think the original post was that Perry does not seem to have maintained control over the quality of the food.
There was an interesting article in the Canberra Times this week about Luke Mangan personally training VA staff on preparing, plating and serving. Not sure how much "hands on" Perry has now.

The Luke Mangan thing is a volunteer thing for FAs.

Perry is heavily involved in the design and planning but I suspect not as much in the training. He has I think three or six people working full time at QF.

Agree that the VA was a volunteer thing but the article did say that several of these "training sessions" were planned in different locations. My point was only that Mangan did have some active involvement in the food served on board VA.

For those not aware, Mangan has his finger in the pie on the 3 Australian based P&O cruise ships too with Salt featuring as a premium restaurant on all of them.

Neil has a dedicated team of six that work full time in designing menus, working with caterers and training cabin crew and lounge staff. He is personally involved in many of the training sessions, as he has been over his 16 year association with Qantas.

Apologies in advance, (as I appreciate your involvement here) but I just can't resist. How much involvement has Mr Perry had with the execrable " cafe breakfast" on medium haul international J ? (Consists of only a ham and cheese croissant for the luckily uninitiated.)
