Hi all,

I booked multi-city (economy classic reward) flight through Qantas website below:
- MEL -> HKG : Qantas (QF)
- HKG -> TPE : Cathay (CX)
- TPE -> HKG : Cathay (CX)
- HKG -> MEL : Cathay (CX)

When I manage my booking in Qantas website, I saw that my baggage allowance for MEL -> HKG is 30kg.
However, for my other 3 Cathay (CX) flight, it only mentions "1 piece" there without specifying the kg.

In Cathay website, it says that the baggage allowance for Economy is 1x23kg.
However, when I contact QFF support team, the lady told me that my baggage will be 30kg for all flights.

Just wondering if I am gonna get 23kg or 30kg on my Cathay (CX) flight?
Any thought / previous experience perhaps?

Also, as for lounge allowance, for Qantas Club / Qantas Point Plus member (Bronze QFF), I guess I can only get into the Qantas lounge for my first-flight in Melbourne Airport? (as it only works for QF flight?)
Or can I get to their HongKong lounge as well?

Many thanks in advance

No Qantas Club access on CX flights, even in the QF lounge.

Your QF allowance will be the allowance for the whole trip (but not the additional amount for Qantas Club). So you’d get 30Kg. This is due to Most Significant Carrier rules. You should get 42Kg for the outbound journey as the Qantas Club allowance will apply (technically that only applies as far as HKG but in practice you generally get it to your final destination).
