Wow.. really? You could be one of the rare few to think that...

Strictly speaking in F only and highly depends on what you like personally as well.
For example, I'm a seafood person and my last QF flight had none for entree.

This is what I had last time:
Salmon & Caviar (CX) vs Pear salad (QF)
Prawn entree (CX) vs None (QF)
Chicken consumme (CX) vs Mushroom soup (QF)
Stir Fried Lobster (CX) vs Grill fish (QF)

To be fair tho, QF did very well on all dishes (taste wise), including dessert.
But to me, the selections were just like their IFE, fairly limited.

CX can be hit & miss regarding western mains, but their eastern mains are exceptional.

Depending the flight duration, I tend to have snacks during movie time as well.
CX provides hot snack (wonton soup/noodles etc) for that and QF offered me olives and sandwich.....

I don't think it's contentious at all. They belong wherever their parents choose, not other passengers.

Agreed. I take full responsibility for my child, and if there's any unhappiness from him then I will do my utmost to minimise any impact on anyone else. I won't be travelling in Y in the future because some people believe having a child in tow mandates it.

Was only wondering about the lounge in terms of ability to put the baby down somewhere quiet pre-flight (especially if it's the 0100 to SFO). Those cabanas sound like they might fit the bill. Are they popular and hard to get into?

In my experience not that hard to get into...

My aunt and uncle had a sin-hkg-jfk flight where the sin-hkg flight arrived in HKG at midnight and the connection was at 9am. The first lounge was not open which was not what they expected. The transit hotel rooms were booked out so they had to snooze on the chairs. So you will run into the same problem.

That doesn't sound great! We're stopping in Hong Kong for 3 nights and we're taking the ~5pm flight to JFK so it should be perfect timing for hotel check out and lounge check in :-)

My wife and I flew CX F last year on the 77W with 2 babies in the cabin. Initially I was a little apprehensive, but it turned out to be a really pleasant flight. All the cabin crew were fawning over the babies, and my wife was too. In fact, at one stage she was carrying one of them up and down the aisle!

I guess the point I'm trying to make is, babies in the F cabin isn't as bad as it initially sounds, as long as the parents are proactive in taking care of them.

Oh, and I personally feel CX F is superior in both hard and soft product to QF. The food in the F lounge in Sydney is much better than The Wing F lounge but on board, the food and service was far better on CX across several flights.

Just flew a CX J segment of HK to Sing... How long do they usually take to post points and SC in QFF?
