What's the deal with Cathay? Puts out these promotions but then closes them due to overwhelming demand before the dates are over....

Cathay is mainly marketing to HK. Promotions in HK are "different" to the rest of the world! I discovered this when I moved there and found out that the voucher I had for a free xx_ required me to travel to a backwater of Kowloon and stand in a queue to get handed my thing. i can't recall what it was (another voucher I think - totally unnecessary to get physically) but after that i realised HK promotions are not worth fighting over!
