Cathay Pacific Using AA miles

Cathay availability is disgracefully erratic: coming and going all over the place. JL shows the most accurate for USDM and AA. QF seems to have a lot more than they do. I'd set an ExpertFlyer availability alert for the flight you want and jump on it when availability pops up.

I'm pretty flexible with flights and dates, I think you have to be for any sort of award travel.
Say I'm happy to travel any day in March 1st-31st inclusive on any of the four daily flights on CX from HKG-JFK. Each of these are on the 77W (one is via YVR, the others direct) and each have F. How exactly does this work on EF ? Can I set up some sort of blanket alert to cover these destinations and dates ? Or am I going to have to set up 31*4 = 124 alerts lol ?

You can't set EF alerts for CX award space because EF do not support it.
CX is not in the list here:

I just had the experience of both the Cathay and BA website showing the flight as avaibae, rang AA for them to say there allocation has been used up and it was not showing as available. I checked as soon as I got off the phone and then an hour later and seat still there on Cathay and BA. Anyone know why this might be the case?

What was expert flyer or flight stats saying in terms of availability, it varies based on point of sale, with AA looking at a different region to CX/BA in that respect.
