iflyflat has published a blog post today saying you can now redeem your Commbank Awards Points to fly with nine new airline partners:
  • Air Asia - Big points
  • Air France / KLM - Flying Blue
  • Eva Air - Infinity MileageLands
  • China Eastern - Eastern Miles
  • Etihad - Guest
  • Malaysia Airlines - Enrich
  • United Airlines - MileagePlus
  • Japan Airlines - MileageBank
  • Lufthansa - Miles & More
  • Plus - IHG Rewards, the loyalty program of InterContinental Hotels Group, is also available as the bank's first hotel transfer partner.
I can't find this info on CBA's website - it just lists Velocity and Qantas.

Has anyone received notification from CBA? Perhaps this info is embargoed and iflyflat has jumped the gun on the announcement.

Japan Airlines, United Airways and 7 more airlines are now accessible with CBA Awards Points.
If you go to "Awards Site" under "looking for something else?"
then select "Redeem Travel", select "Frequent Flyer Programs"
you will be presented with options of transferring points to those programs available:

Commbank has removed JAL as of 1 March 2020. Pretty pi55ed off as this was the reason I got their Ultimate card.

Any particular reason why you need JAL? You can always convert to Qantas and book other One World airlines.

FWIW, I spoke to CommBank Awards last week over the phone and they informed me that Qatar Airways Privilege Club is now a partner (3.5:1 transfer rate). But apparently China Eastern transfers have been "temporarily suspended" since March, and are currently scheduled to return in May - although the agent thought it might be longer. (Not a great loss, really.)

I asked the representative if this information was anywhere on the CBA website, and was told it's not. Apparently you also have to call up to transfer points to any program other than Velocity (or Qantas if opting in to direct QFF earn).

Do they offer reward points for daily spends from Debit card or any on-going direct debit agreements from your account ?

I spoke to CommBank Awards again today. JAL Mileage Bank is back, but apparently United MileagePlus is no longer an option.

Commbank Awards partners updated, now includes Aeroplan, ALL, Emirates, Marriott, KrisFlyer and Wyndham.

The conversion rate is appalling.

For sure, converting direct to Krisflyer at 3:1 is only marginally better than the old way of going via Virgin Velocity at 2:1 and then 1.55:1 for an effective rate of 3.10:1

Better off waiting for another 15% Velocity bonus
