Great to catch up with Lowjhg and SQ421, shame we missed the Flying Mermaids (and the mystery man).

Perhaps AFF should have a subtle lapel pin or something to help us recognize each other.

My only new info gained was that soon we will be able to spend points on hire cars (Avis and Budget at a guess).

I have been to loads of functions (not QF ones), I'd rate this one as ho hum. Anyway, nice to catch some CBR AFFers.

Good to see you too OzEire, the event indeed was a bit ho hum, heavy on alcohol, however I quite enjoyed the opportunity to speak to Brian Funston (CFO, Qantas Loyalty) about generating, engaging and retaining loyalty across flyers and non-fliers alike. And, as discussed, I'll get on that AFF CBR Dinner in the coming weeks!

I found it quite interesting. I would have like to have seen an open Q & A session. Don't normally drink champagne but enjoyed the Tattinger.

It it was a typical Canberra event with plenty if people wearing round medallions on their suit lapel!!

Actually I am regretting the Tattinger today - 2.5 glasses on an empty stomache was not good.....Round medallions? Saw plenty of key cards strung round necks, but round medallions?

I think Fersea means 'Order of Australia' awards which come with minature pins to wear 'everyday' since wearing a full medal in public really screams DYKWIA ! (No disrespect for award holders, some of whom have done some amazing things).

Ah - OK - lived in Canberra for 31 years and not seen one (well I am sure I have but not knowingly).

It looks a little like this (smaller than a 5 cent piece) and once you have your eye in it is quite prevalent.

Perhaps we need AFF pins ;)

I guess Admin owns the IP of the AFF logo, unless Sam wanted a social pin (on the basis that its for recognizing unfamiliar members at functions).

Love the idea that it could be complimentary with higher tier membership.

I'm sure it'll have a good discussion over next weekend at the annual gathering.

I missed this event due to being stuck on a beach on the Sunshine Coast.... but would be interested in a CBR AFF catch up meal in the near future.
