We haven’t been able to get together since March. So looking forward to catching up with a few people. And share a birthday with one of our group.

If you are a CBR or local resident or are only travelling to other places with very little spread, please come and join us at the Kingo at 6pm.

Please RSVP.
Hi all - hope it’s not too late to RSVP as a first timer to this catch up.

Are there any RSVP changes, as I will be confirming 10 pax with the restaurant, and on timing?
Hopefully we’ll start at 6pm onwards for those coming straight from work. TBC.

If there is any doubt that you should perhaps stay away, please do so as we definitely don’t wish AFF to be publically named and shamed as breaking the 60+ days CBR virus free status. 😇

Hope to catch up another time with those who sadly can’t make this dinner.

As usual, the reservation is under AFF in Maddies restaurant where orders are a la carte or from the specials board, and the BBQ will be lit. (However, to contain numbers, that may mean walking around to get to use the BBQ).

I think I've been in la la land with this approaching without my finger on the pulse. Going to have to sit this one out. Work has been exhausting and would be a social zombie and I'm sure they don't serve brains. I won't be responsible for the consequences!

Here’s most of us at dinner tonight, minus a couple who’d gone early. We had a Birthday boy too who was in charge of cutting the cake into nine pieces. His phone didn’t help him with the calculation. A great range of discussions took place :

I think that's the first time I've been to the Kingo and not cooked my own.

Thanks to get me outta here for organising another wonderful night.
Yes seeing that one chocolate brownie with 10 spoons was a little amusing. :)

Glad everything worked out. You're so lucky to be able to gather like that. In Melbourne, we're still wearing masks everywhere.

This, cook your own concept sounds interesting. How does it all work?

The Kingston Hotel has a huge indoor BBQ. You choose a steak from the cool glass counter display with various options of cuts and prices, and help yourself to the salad bar.
People stand around the barbie and chat whilst watching the dinner cook. I have zero experience with barbecuing but another member has perfected the art and I have learned how to do it now.
Some people think it’s a silly idea and outsource the cooking to the restaurant and order from the menu. It’s good food and mostly man sized servings. Drinks are ordered from the bar. The staff are friendly too.

As a first timer to an AFF event - I couldn’t have found a more welcoming and friendly group - so thank you to all of you. While it was bittersweet to meet up and talk about what flying is currently not to be - it left me with hopes for the longer game.......and yes I hear those in Vic - we are lucky to at least be able to meet!
