On Tuesday 21 January 2020, 5J49, the 1220 hours MNL - MEL arrived at 2356 hours just before midnight, 21 late with A333 RP-C3343.
However 5J50, the 0050 hours Wednesday 22 return flight took off at 0247 hours, very late, and appears to have then returned to MEL, arriving at 0514 hours. It only got as far north as Mildura:

The aircraft remains in MEL as far as I can see.
As it often forms 5J929, the 0725 hours morning MNL across to BKK, this had to be operated by smaller A321 RP-C4119 on 22 January, departing about 90 minutes late.
What (if anything) was wrong with the aircraft, or was it a medical diversion and then for whatever reason the crew did not continue on back to MNL?
A small number of months ago, there was one occasion when a 5J aircraft was defective in MEL and remained there for around five days while being attended to. There are eight of these 436-seat (cramped) A333s in its fleet.
