Thanks for that - nice promo. Would love to see more details (such as are the flights in J ;) and is the destination Ramsay or Heston or Adria).

Must remember to check this out.

I have Tetsuya booked in Oct - so hope that is on the selects list :)

Where the prize is for an international destination, it is in business, for the domestic prizes it is in economy.

Apologies - I had downloaded the T&Cs but it was not obvious to me.

Having seen more detail the prizes look truly stunning - Tokyo has more Michelin starred restaurants than Paris currently.

Mind you 7 nights and 4 dinners might actually be hard work - a lot of rich food in short sequence!

Hard work should always be rewarded ;)

By looking at the wording in the T&C it looks like all listed dining estableshments on the AmexDining website may be eligible for cardholders to earn an entry...

If that is the case, I think the lemon detox diet might have to start tomorrow as there may be a few fancy dinners out over the next few months

Is it just me, or is the list of restaurants on the Selects site, rather, er, sparse?

It's not clear which places rate an entry. I can't understand their map on that site.

Anyone have a simple explanation on how this works?

And it seems that registration is borked :(

Interesting that a few of our regular take aways take Amex - wonder if they count ;)

It seems strange that this competition provides extra entries for dining at the AMEX Selects restaurants. These aren't great restaurants. AMEX has premium restaurant lists too - one for their Centurion members and another list for the Platinum cardholders - yet there are no bonus entries for paying with AMEX at these restaurants.

I was surprised that Tetsuya's was not on the select list. I have been trying for 3 years to get in (at a time that we want to) and it was only after I got the Plat Concierge to book it that I got a table.

Dinner will be around $800 and I get the same entries for spending $50 at a local take-away. Another stunningly well thought out promo.

Yes I know this will encourage more people to use Amex at local restaurants as people are likely to already be paying by card at Tet's...

Tetsuya's is crazilly busy. I think they are well known internationally which keeps them going. North American and Asian food tourists certainly seemed over-represented the last time we were there which, incidentallly, was earlier this year on a Wednesday night which was the best night I could get for 3 months - and that was the Centurion table...

I booked in June for a Saturday in October. Had tried a few times trying to book 3, 6 and 11 months out from special dates with no luck. Phone Amex - table booked Saturday 7:30PM.

Only problem is now that mrssimongr is pregnant and will have to skip some foods...

Congratulations! And I understand. Marge was gutted when we started a fine food and wine fortnight in New Zealand when she was about 7½ months pregnant...But you can look forward to travelling as a family in the future...and until then I can heartily recommend booking as many fine dining experiences as you can to take advantage of your remaining months as just a couple. ;)

Thanks - I think our fine dining peaked during our UK visit to Maze and Purnells with Tet's to be the final fling.

Successfully registered now - although I just missed an entry for take away last night.

You get one entry at any Amex restaurant:

During October and November 2008, you'll receive one entry into the draw every time you dine and pay using your American Express Card at any restaurant or café. Best of all, you'll receive two entries into the draw when you dine at any of our Selects™ partner restaurants.
