Interested in any precedents you guys may know of. I've been a Gold Velocity member since the program started, six or seven years by memory. Nearly platinum twice. I will not get the SCs this year to maintain Gold as I have changed jobs.

So will I necessarily be soft-landed to Silver, or have there been cases of the PTB saying "you've been a very good customer for a long time, keep your Gold for another year"? Is it best if I grovel via an email, or just await my fate?

Just to clarify, losing status will not be the worst thing to happen to me, but if there's a chance to keep it, I'll give it a shot. ;)

How many SC's are you short of staying gold ? A couple of years ago my wife was 10 short so they comped her the other 10 to stay gold

Miles. I'll be lucky to get 200. I was hoping (probably in vain) for some sort of long service recognition....

I don't think so. I could be wrong but I think you will go to Silver

VA haven't been fairly generous this year when it came to comp'ing status, they are trying to clean out all the status matchers who didn't earn their weight.

Don't expect to be given Gold, I'd be surprised if the guest contact centre would have the power to give you gold for another year either. If you've got the contact details for anyone at VA, I suggest sending them a nice email.

Thanks. I'll give an email a try. Annoying that as a loyal Virgin customer I'm caught up with a freeloader clean-up. ;)

That seems a turnaround on last year where they seemed to go to great lengths to maintain status for status matchers who hadn't flown Virgin very much.

I had the SC this year but not the segments and i got dropped down to silver. Probably a slow death for me...
