A quick question on putting in the claim, would you do it after each segment or once all are completed.
I flew on 13th April to BKK and returning home on 30th April.
My thinking is to wait until all flights are completed and then put in the claim.

Upon completion of all segments, otherwise too much back and forth. When I claimed I also sent through the electronic ticket proving the date of ticket purchase.

My parents did their claim between sectors. Both sectors were recently adjusted.

I think it may be time to consider this:More here: The Airline Customer Advocate (ACA)

After 2 weeks I sent back another email asking for my account to be credited with the old earn rates. I will probably wait another 2 weeks prior to escalating this with the ACA. What I don't understand is these flights credited within a week for my parents yet I was on the exact same flight as them and its yet to be resolved.

I'm also still waiting. Claim went in on 11/4.

So don't know what to think.

4 of us going to Europe. I'm Gold. Purchased tickets on Jan 20, ful economy, so should be eligible for loads of status credits.

At the old SC earn rate, I would re-do my family pooling, 1 kid pooling to each of me and my wife, for me to requalify gold and wife to gain gold, or leave all 3 of them pooling to me, for me to make platinum.
On the new rates, I'd leave all 3 of them pooling to me, and requalify for gold.

With this situation of not knowing what Velocity/SQ will do, I'm not sure what to do! :(

(on that note if I make platinum, then don't make the requalifying number of SC the year after, would I revert to gold for the next year or lose all status completely?)

So after another 2 weeks, I've had no response to both my emails other than a generic we'll get back to you once we know something. I think its time to raise this with the ACA. I'll update once I have more info.

Which email address did you use?
I saw a post earlier they sent the request to platinum@velocity .....and I sent email to silver@Velocity etc. (took a punt on it as I'm silver status).
Generic reply back saying they got it, but I did notice in the email they mention if urgent or you can not wait 5 days then to call them on the number provided.

For those who have had the points and status credits correctly applied which email address was used?

i used [email protected] because I am Gold.

My parents used the same email address and had their issue rectified within a week. Bear in mind I was on the exact same flight as them. So I don't think its a matter of which email address to use. I wouldn't say its an urgent matter, my review date isn't until December but I am thinking about upgrading a trip to J so I'm more so chasing after the added points.

Same. I fired off another email asking for an update yesterday. Will give it a few days then ACA it is. It's annoying because I have a status milestone on Friday (earn x SCs by 11 May to go up to gold)...I should be moving up to gold but am missing the required SCs because of this. Also travelling VA in a few days, should have lounge access, but don't!

Edit: I appreciate if the do retrospectively credit that should be based on the travel dates, but I don't trust them to get this right and they might credit with activity date after that milestone and more wrangling ensues!

I would call if I was in your position. It seems yours is more urgent and a phone call might be able to fix it.
In fact has anyone had success calling? IIRC everyone here has just sent off emails?

I'd also think you should give them a call.
I will move to Gold once my claim is processed and have a trip next month and then August where the status will be handy to have as I have not booked anything yet.

I used the platinum email and worked. I don't see how ACA will fix your problem quicker than resolving by constant follow up. I am not sure if you are aware but we are actually asking for a goodwill of points and SC's retrospectively being applied. VA can say tough luck if they wanted to. Velocity hasn't actually done anything that has breached their T&C's.

Its more the fact that its published in writing on a reputable source which if the article is to be accessed still has it in writing. Its not a matter of asking for goodwill, if it is writing it might as well be on their T's & C's. All I'm after is a response, if ACA come back to me and say tough luck no points or status then matter is closed move on. However, VA haven't responded and based on current correspondence it doesn't appear likely that I will receive any from them hence why I've contacted ACA. Besides I haven't got the time to be constantly contacting VA for follow up.

If you're referring to what was written in Ausbt I don't really place any value in that...it's heresay and quite possibly came from someone who just made an assumption or wanted to say something to journos that sounded good! Certainly Velocity have not applied a blanket fix for this. What is more relevant to me now is that SOME people have received a resolution, others not. Our circumstances are all the same. andyhui01 is correct that the T&Cs are wide open, but often regulators overrule such blanket conditions when it comes to it.

Tried calling...just pointless and frustrating as expected. Singapore Airlines have not responded...end of story.

o_O

The only reputable source is Virgin.

Err. what?! I really hope the other poster wasn't referring to Ausbt!!! Good lord, Ausbt is as good a source as wikipedia, ACA, coughtube, and KKs blog. At least one of these would have more clout than AB.
