Did you the get points?I've only had my Amex with this offer pretty much since this new rule came in, so I can only go on the new experience, but I found it to be pretty straightforward. In fact, the credit was applied before the charge landed!
Did you the get points?
Just as a follow up to this. I rang them and they said I hadn't ticked the right box which I was positive I had done. They said the computer says no so I said I want to escalate. I again got a no but got a lovely man who said he would keep pushing it up. About 6 weeks later I got a call to say he would credit me the amount.I made my booking in January to use up my credit and the amount I used (not the full $450) is still showing as a debit on my Amex card. I can't remember what used to happen so guess I'm going to have to call them
Yes.Did you the get points?
Yes.
I just checked my statement. The $450 travel credit and the $200 restaurant credit both show as zero points in the Rewards statement. Other credits (refunds in my case) show as negative points.
So yes - you get the rewards points on the original purchase amount.
As a quick data point my $450 credit was awarded even while the original purchase was still pending.
Are you referring to the $400 Reserve credit actually crediting to the Platinum Charge account after redemption? If so, no, that's not my experience last month after the changes took effect.Anyone experience having their Travel Credit on the AMEX Platinum Reserve companion card.
charge to the Plat Charge card as a statement credit recently?
Yes, it was $400 Reserve credit actually credited to the Platinum Charge. Spoke to the agent from the Travel chat and she confirmed that's how it works now after she confirmed with the team that looks after the $$$. She said I have called that team for the travel credit to transfer from the plat charge back to the reserve card. Are you referring to the $450 Reserve credit actually crediting to the Platinum Charge account after redemption? I was doing a survey for AMEX Platinum Charge. I noticed they are thinking about changing the AMEX travel credit and annual fee. It looks like they want to increase the annual fee to $1,550. They also want to change travel credit from $450 to $550 which you can spend overseas. I basically filled out that survey and tell them to stuff it to their face. AMEX Platinum has a ridiculous 3% foreign fee. I still do not get why a travel credit card has a conversion fee while in the US, there isn't any.

Being confirmed today a new policy, since this is a companion card to the Plat Charge, TC will be credited to the plat charge even though the TC is from Plat Reserve Card. Are you referring to the $400 Reserve credit actually crediting to the Platinum Charge account after redemption? Hmm this is interesting indeed. So does that mean when I used the reserve credit I will be able to pay with my charge card so I get better travel insuranceBeing confirmed today a new policy, since this is a companion card to the Plat Charge, TC will be credited to the plat charge even though the TC is from Plat Reserve Card.

Don't have a clue. I suspect they have stuff this up.Interesting. So that means you only need to use the charge card for payment?
How does it work for folks who keep the credit card but no longer have the charge card?
