Amex aren't NDC-enabled for QF which is why there's a number of domestic (and tasman) fares where Amex is more expensive than the QF website. In fact none of the major corporate travel agents here in AU are enabled for NDC for QF.

The main fare with a huge fare difference is the I class NDC-only fares that QF offers on domestic. There is only the NDC fare in I class, so for non-NDC, you get the D class fare which is double the price.

Supposedly cheaper fares when booking further out/non peak periods, undoubtedly more expensive close in and high demand periods. They wouldn't introduce it if it wasn't meaning additional revenue...

It's a new distribution channel that will basically eventually replace the traditional GDS. It has a long way to go before it gets to that point though.
