I've recently booked a MEL-PER business class ticket using Avios due to it being much better value than using my QFF points. My flight therefore is registered under my Executive Club account. As Qantas is also a Oneworld member is there any way to reassign this awards booking from my Avios account to my QFF account i.e. change the FF number? I've gone into my BA account and have been unable to do so this way.

I finally got through to BA earlier in the week and asked them to change it themselves and this was their reply

If you have used your BA Avios to make a booking, we can't remove your BA frequent for your Qantas frequent flyer number. You can't get points for a booking made using your Avios points, as you can only get them for commercial cash bookings. Neil

So as per my experience on the BA website when I booked with my Avios points I was not given the option to change my BA frequent for my QFF, which makes sense based on the above. But it's weird that some posters here did have the option when they booked with Avios!?

Many thanks *A Flyer - it seemed to let me do it - I didn't get any error message like I did on the Finnair site when I tried. But I'm still not 100% sure - the change to passenger e-mail confirmation I received doesn't display the FF number - is there any way to double check?
Can you select the seats you want when using MMB? If that’s working, then all good. Otherwise, may need to try again. It took a few minutes when I did it for the new FFP number to propagate through the various systems.

It seems to have worked, thanks! I've added the flight to my Qantas account too and it's displaying my QFF. Fingers crossed this'll earn me 64SC from Points Club! :D

Dear all,

I am delighted to inform you that the BA trick worked and I have been able to claim SC on an Avios booking via points club. Thanks again to *A Flyer for the RJ tip to change the booking from Executive Club to Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Now, it gets a little more interesting. I've attached the screenshot so you can see that I received 38 SCs for the flight. So this unfortunately means I did not get the 64SCs I expected as it was booked during a DSC period (however in this thread other members reported that they have been able to avail of this in the past). But I did get the very weird number of 38. If you look at the Classic Flight Reward tables there's no 38SCs anywhere! So even though I didn't get the DSC I still got more than the 32SCs than you would expect for MEL-PER! Thoughts?

Excluding the value of the Avios points themselves considering my outlay on the ticket was $190 that works out as $5/SC. Good value?

Hope this will be of some use to folk!
