From what I understand we each need to do our own restaurant bookings. I don’t fancy sitting at a table for one, so I will give it a miss time.
Doug you can sit with us - when time gets closer I am sure we can communicate with Bloody Mary's to consolidate a number of bookings onto larger communal tables - you won't be on your own mate

You won’t sit alone. Once we have names I’ll get the restaurants to group everyone. Having people responsible for their own bookings avoids last minute cancellations where the hosts wears the cost.

Restaurant booking made for 2 people. I will PM the booking name to blackcat20 closer to the actual date (or when requested!). It appears there is a Rydges at essentially the same address.

So I make a booking for one?

Whilst I appreciate that you don't want to get stuck out of pocket, it seems a little convoluted to have ~10+ bookings who then all are seated together? Will they put me on my own, or do I get to sit with someone, or just the same part of the restaurant?

Hey Gilligan - I will add you to our booking and you can sit with us?

Info for AFF General Populace - when penegal was a kid his mum had to tie a bone around his neck just to get the family dog to play with him!!! 👍 :p

The idea was that groups of people here would organise a table (think of it like a trivia night, you form your own group), not to have single people making their own reservation. For example I booked a table of six and have arranged for six of us to be sitting at it. Closer to the time i was going to let the restaurant know that there were a number of bookings (hopefully less bookings with more people in them) that we would like seated in the same area if possible.

I have a booking for 2, happy for that to change to a larger table booking or combined with another. Have flights sorted, EK on 6 and 8 March but have not sorted out accomodation. We were considering Heritage any one stayed there.

We visited CHC last Cup weekend. Enjoyed our stay.
Stayed at Crowne Plaza - excellent - tram stop outside, a few minutes walk to New Regent Street a block away.
Very filling breakfast at "Unknown Chapter Coffee Roasters" St Asaph Street.
Fine dinner at "27 Steps" restaurant in New Regent Street.
And, as a tram/train tragic, of course a dinner on the only operating Tramcar Restaurant in the Southern Hemisphere (somehow less dangerous than the now sidelined Melbourne tramcar restaurants, even though of similar vintage).

Amazingly through an unexpected twist of fate I am Platinum.

I booked a SYD-AKL 787 return fare during the launch sale a couple of months back during this weekend (stupidly I didn't realise it was a long weekend and booked the return flight on Sunday after thinking about how I couldn't convince my boss to give me Friday AND Monday off (derpderpderp). Just booked AKL-CHC return flying in for dinner and out the next morning a few hours before my flight back to Sydney. Tickets were only $100 return for a starter fare.

Looking forward to meeting you all and enjoying an evening of good food and travel banter!

Hey all.

I've made a booking for one for the dinner. Please add me to the consolidated table for aviation geeks :)

Looking forward to seeing/meeting you all!

Please please please don’t make bookings for one. It’s going to be a nightmare to sort out. Talk to other people who have expressed interest in attending and put together larger groups, then make a booking.

Hoatzin, the only consolidated table is the one you put together yourself. A booking for one will be just that.

Please ask others who are going to make up a larger table.

After a chat with Doug today I have changed my booking at Bloody Mary’s from 2 to a table for 8, the head count is currently at 3 being: Doug, MrsM and myself. If you would like to join please let me know so I can add you to the table count and ensure I do not over book.

Hi Matt_01 Please add myself and the +1 to your table. I am currently holding a booking for two at the restaurant. Once you have confirmed I will advise the restaurant of my booking being consolidated with yours.

The booking I have has been confirmed for 8 by Bloody Mary's. Current seat count is updated to 5, being: CMA222, CMA222+1, Doug, MrsM and myself.

If you would like to join please let me know so I can add you to the table count and ensure I do not over book.

@CMA222 and @Doug_Westcott I will send you the booking details via PM.
