I've been having a play with google flights. Amazing how quick it is able to bring up new results when you just change a dep or arrv city.

Just noticing aeroflot has some pretty keen J pricing out of Asia to Europe.

NRT seems to be the cheapest to fly out of with them. Looking at NRT - BCN then IST to NRT for < $2000 USD

Changing to leave from ICN and back into BKK costs 2056 USD. KLM is just 2220 for the same routing.

Certainly makes position in Asia with miles then buying a revenue fare a possibility to save some $$$.

EY had (has?) a sale NRT-DUB for around USD1700 return.

We get the raw prawn here in Australia in terms of pricing.

Yes, but there are occasionally some quite reasonable fares.

For example Scoot are having a sale ex AU at the moment and I recently purchased a one-way ticket SYD-SIN in business class for AUD 299. Cheaper than some LCCs' poor economy offerings. I'm then doing a business class trip around Europe courtesy of the Star Alliance. Getting out of / into Australia at a reasonable cost really is the trick.

If on the old 777 with scoot then you've wasted your money on their business class. I did it last year and the seat were very hard.

The upgrade yellow seats with about 35" seat pitch are far better value and more comfortable.

But yet, if ya willing to schlep it a bit to get out of Australia then suddenly business class becomes a whole lot more reasonable.

It looks as if it might be a Dreamliner, as there are 5 rows of bus class, rather than four. In any case, Scootbiz murders all LCC economy IMHO, especially at a cost of approx $300. I've flown Scootbiz before also, and was quite happy with the seats on the 777-200, especially at the bulkhead.
