Cheap F tickets?

I was looking to book flights back from SIN to MEL in Jan next year and came across a few of these Any Seat Awards rates.

Looking for J class, I proceeded and found that I could get First because 'The requested cabin class is full or not available in at least one of the
options listed below' and the total cost is only around $790 with 60,000 points to get First cabin SIN to SYD and J SYD to MEL.

Has anyone come across such cheap fares? I have actually succeeded to book a seat on an alternate date and all come through and selected a seat in F already. But I'm looking to book another seat - not travelling solo!..but none appear available at this remarkable price on the same day.

My question is, does anyone think its likely that it will happen again for the same flight, or is it some one off thing..and why would it bump up to F when there are clearly seats left in J?

Added photo for proof! :) I do also have an itinerary of a separate booking with the similar price.

Welcome to AFF ronaldh!

Interesting find and it does appear to be available on other dates. Glitch in the system?

Very interesting find. Seems to be easier than doing a JASA and paying to upgrade.

Available to BNE (via MEL/SYD) too, and SYD (via MEL).

240 SCs for 60k+$800 AUD, isn't too bad when it's in first.

Wonder how long this will last!
Grab it now if it fits your dates. :)

I have been seriously thinking about using the ~43,506 QFF points (60,000 QFF points for any seat award less ~12,974 QFF points earned less ~3,520 QFF points loyalty bonus pro-rata for 220 SCs) + ~AUD800 to try out A380 first class. Don't think I will get too many opportunities like this one.

Spent some time thinking about this today, and I don't think it's a bug. Just a strange implementation of what can already be gotten.

The cheapest FASA SIN-SYD for example is around 125K points (or 90K points + $S489.28). So it must just be combining that with a JASA SYD-MEL (for example) to get the result above.

May disappear, but may stick around...

very interesting, thanks for posting.

Investigation underway...

Correct. I saw that earlier in the afternoon but for me it would require an early flight the night before from BKK, accommodation in SIN unless spending the night at the airport and accommodation in MEL unless spending the night at the airport.

Yeah, been a long time reader, but thought I'd get stuck into the forums :)

The worst part of these tix are that you can only get ONE seat at that price....2 or more it goes back to the default price of 450-500,000 pts for F and over 300,000 for J.
Hoping that they might have more seats at this price (got one already, need one more!)

Another thing is if one were to get the Award seat for it, it'd be 90,000 yet 125,000 gets you the seat and SCs and FFPs (nearly compensating the difference!)

That would be because there is only the one Award redemption first class seat available - i.e. P1.
