I thought I would let everyone in on this great website
Grabaseat Reverse Auctions by Air New Zealand
https://grabaseat.co.nz/secure/auctions
Seats are auctioned off every Tuesday
They are mainly internal flights, However they do have some international flights
Auckland to Los Angeles
Auckland to Tokyo
Auckland to Hong Kong
Auckland to Honolulu (My favourite)
Auckland to Osaka
Auckland to Shanghia
But I have not seen a Auckland to London
and if you need a cheap one way ticket from NZ they have them two but just cant see any advantages with this
They say on the terms and conditions that you need to be a NZ resident but I have booked several flights on this website and have had no issues
I gather they are happy with the money
Last flight
Was to Honolulu in Feb 2012
Total Cost for 2 people $1297 (Did I forget to mention that is in NZ$)
and AUD$450.00 in flight to NZ from Sydney
You just have to look out for cheap tickets to NZ on Virgin and other airline when planning to book these flights because sometimes they can work out to be more expensive
Unless you want Two Holidays in One
Previous trips have been to the Los Angeles and Honolulu (again) and Hong Kong
And on one occasion I earnt Frequent Flyer points with United
