Howdy

Since the AUD has fallen over 20% to the USD in the past 2 months, I'm finding my usual array of US based hotel booking websites aren't offering such good deals any more. The local sites such as Wotif and Lastminute etc are reasonable, but surely there's some Thai, South African, Japanese or other website with which you can book Australian accommodation in the foreign currency... ?? When I try places like asiarooms etc, no matter which currency I choose to list the price in, the conversions all come up about the same - presumably the base price for the accommodation is AUD and they just convert from there to represent in other currencies. Even Priceline.com.sg and .hk do this as far as I can tell.

Anyone got any reputable websites for booking Aussie hotels on a foreign website to take advantage of the currency?

On a separate note, I was just wondering if Priceline has not yet constructed an Aussie version due to the priceline.com.au domain name already being owned... surely that wouldn't stop them, but branding is everything.
